The Summer Registration Kickoff will be held on April 22 at Oak Park, 1010 Forest Avenue, by the City of Montgomery’s Parks & Recreation Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Parents will be able to register their children for the City of Montgomery’s summer activities at the event. It will have free food, inflatables, face painting, arts & crafts, and other activities.

Mayor Steven L. Reed also announced the resumption of Parks & Recreation’s Summer Youth Employment Program.

The city intends to hire 40 full-time Summer Recreational Aides between the ages of 16 and 24 who fulfill the Alabama Department of Human Resources Family Assistance Income Guidelines.

Additionally, the city’s twitter account @CityofMGM adds, “We’re hiring 125+ summer Rec Aides! This includes camp counselors, lifeguards, admin staff and more. We’re looking for students who are at least 16 years old and enjoy recreational activities, having fun and working with kids. Please apply in person at P&R HQ – 1010 Forest Ave.”

Applications are also available at the City of Montgomery Parks & Recreation Department’s office at Oak Park, 1010 Forest Avenue.
